Procedures for Warranty Repairs on Computers

  1. User informs IT with a Work Order (include Serial Number and Product Number), if emergency follows-up with phone call to IT.
  2. IT staff goes out to site to diagnose and make repairs.
  3. If repair cannot be made by IT staff, IT calls Intellitech to report the nature of the problem
  4. Intellitech can:
    1. Send part to IT
    2. Send technician out with part to install
    3. Pick-up computer – If picking up computer, Intellitech gives a receipt to the User
  • Item is repaired or replaced, if replaced Intellitech updates the inventory log for Purchasing.

Procedures on Out of Warranty Repairs on Computers

  1. User informs IT with a Work Order (include Serial Number and Product Number), if emergency follows-up with phone call to IT.
  2. IT staff goes out to site to diagnose and make repairs.
  3. If repair cannot be made by IT staff, IT informs user that repairs have to be made by contractor or part is needed
  4. User calls Dave Konkolewski at Purchasing to log the repair or part and follow up with a requisition to pay for repair. User gives Dave Serial Number and Product Number
  5. Dave calls and issues a Purchase Order to Intellitech to start work.
  6. Intellitech will diagnose the problem and give a quote to Dave
  7. Dave lets the school know how much the quote is so they can decide whether to proceed or not. If not proceeding, the school will only be charged the diagnostic fee
  8. If the school wants to proceed with the work, Intellitech can:
    1. Send Part to IT
    2. Send Technician out to diagnose and repair
    3. Pick-up computer – If picking up computer, Intellitech gives a receipt to the User
  • Item is repaired or replaced, if replaced Intellitech updates the inventory log for Purchasing.
